Ice dispenser Leaks

This fridge is by far the most frustrating appliance we™€™ve bought. The ice dispenser spits out too much ice leaving ice in the dispenser which ends up melting and leaking all over my floor. It will spit ice out onto the floor also at random times, sometimes in the middle of the night, for it to melt. Or, it will just melt into the tray so when you open the freezer door a huge puddle of water just spills all over the floor. I™€™ve come home multiple times from work to just puddles sitting on my floor for hours. I™€™m concerned that it will eventually ruin my flooring or someone will slip and fall not realizing there™€™s water on the floor. It™€™s extremely frustrating I hate this fridge.

This fridge is okay.

This fridge is okay. Everything seems to be working well, but it's loud when the compressor is running. Occasionally ice will get jammed in the dispenser and we'll have to manually empty the dispenser to get it working again. That being said, it fits in our space and looks nice. I like how bright it is when I open the door. I also like that we're able to adjust the shelves on the fridge door to our needs and it's doing a great job keeping everything at the appropriate temperature. I also really love the shape of the ice cubes and the ability to get crushed ice.

We had limited dimensions to work with, so this fridge was the best value and one of the few that could work for the space. I do like having a water and ice dispenser option. After using the fridge for several months, I found with the side-by-side configuration, the square footage inside seemed smaller than our old fridge, where the freezer was below the fridge. I also wish that I could use all of the shelves in the fridge. However, I would not be able to store a 4L jug of milk upright, so I had to take out a shelf to make space for that. but now there is some wasted vertical space without that shelf. But overall, the fridge suits our needs, and I'm still learning to find new ways to make better use of the slightly more limited space.

This refrigerator is poorly designed and not well made. The doors are impossible to level so that they don™€™t open and close without swinging wildly open or slamming shut. The shelf heights in the fridge do not accommodate normal sized items. The ice maker is a pathetic mechanical device that is so bad that the manufacturer includes a QR code as a sticker inside explaining how to use it. There™€™s also a sticker trying to explain how to adjust the doors but its a design flaw. The unit runs constantly and ice gets trapped in the dispenser and melts.

Happy with this refrigerator freezer

This refrigerator has plenty of space in the freezer and refrigerator. I have had to adjust the temperature a few times dur to items in the fridge side freezing. I did have a service issue because the waterline to the ice maker was not installed properly. Water was running down the rear wall of the freezer and freezing around the area where the compressor fan is. It made a horrible grinding noise. I called for service and they came out within g a couple days to fix the issue. That was a few weeks ago and I haven™€™t had that issue again. So far we are happy with this appliance

A good, basic side-by-side

A good, basic refrigerator/freezer and one of the only models that, at 67 1/2" height, will fit into my space. Upkeep of the finish is a bit of a chore. Fingerprint resistance is not that great. Crushed ice is hard to capture in a glass. Admittedly I don't have the freezer very full, but the freezer temperature during the defrost cycle goes up to close to 20ºF. I have moved the baseline freezer setting to a level 4 so that the ice cream doesn't have time to soften up during a defrost cycle. Otherwise, it performs as advertised.

Bought last month, overall pleased with appliance. I love the bright interior lights and consistent temperature. There is a near constant hum from a fan or something that begins a few seconds after you close the fridge door, it stops humming when you open the door. This is the only downside of this fridge for me.

Just received the fridge a week ago. From a local appliance retail store. They delivered and installed the fridge. It was out of stock when I ordered it. But determined it was what we needed and could afford for it's reliability. It did take 7 weeks for the factory to finally do production for them in stainless steel. Black or white was available however. We wanted stainless to match the other appliances. It's what was advertised. It was not damaged and works as it should. I do recommended running the three full ice maker cycles before using the ice. It will have a bad taste before that full instructed flush. Now that we have it flushed and working, we do find it to be what it replaced room wise. It does have a larger Ice maker system, but we do like this. It does take more room from the freezer storage area. But for us we don't need more. we have a very large standup separate freezer. I can't give any real testimony as for it reliability. I just can say it come recommended by the repair industry as one of the more reliable brands. But we all know getting only a few years instead of a couple decades out of these major purchases, is normal now. We buy several units to do what one unit would deliver. Totally the oposite of going"green. Much more consumption manufacturing done now. But these brands are American. So the hope is they are at least manufactured as clean as we can afford.

I love my new Whirlpool except for one thing and that is™€¦it runs all of the time, the only time it doesn™€™t run is when you open it. Other than the running all of the time, I absolutely love my new Whirlpool refrigerator. So much room and laid out so nicely. The freezer is just as nice and I love the ice maker. The water is an absolute plus. So easy to get to and use and the choice of the two ices for your drink is great. Whirlpool has done it for me, except for the refrigerator running all of the time!

Total Nightmare-Faulty Freezer, Repeated Repairs..

I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone. A week after purchasing it (April 2025), the freezer failed and I've been dealing with problems ever since. Repair service has come out four times to repair it, and they even replaced the heater in the freezer to fix the issue - but it still doesn't keep the food frozen. After the repair, the freezer worked for only 5 weeks before it defrosted again - this time on the fourth of July while I was away. All the ice melted, water poured only my brand-new floors, seeped through the ceiling to my basement family room and warped my antique desk below. On top of this I've had to throw out hundreds of dollars' worth of freezer food twice because the unit cannot maintain the correct temperature. This has been a costly, frustrating mess that no one should have to deal with. If you're considering this refrigerator, do yourself a favor and buy something more reliable from a company that stands behind what they sell. I absolutely do not recommend this product.

We love our fridge. This is our second side-by-side from Whirlpool. We upgraded to this one because of the ice maker and filtered water which we are loving. What is interesting is the fridge part is the exact same square feet as our previous Whirlpool but because the layout is different, e.g. bigger door shelves, it seems huge compared to our last fridge. More lighting too. We've very pleased.

Everything was fine until a few weeks ago when the freezer started humming loudly. I defrosted it and once plugged back in it started the noise again. I have scheduled service, but since I work week days and no Saturday appointments, I have to wait until the end of March.

Separate Dual dispensers for ice and water!

Runs a little loud. I had to buy another shelf for side door of refrigerator. Don™€™t know how to add a new shelf to freezer yet? It is great that this is Energy certified efficient refrigerator. It is a large refrigerator with a small height to fit under my cabinets.

Great large short in height refrigerator

I bought a couple weeks ago. More noisier than my last refrigerator. So far it is up and working. I had to buy another shelf for door as, for me, there was not enough shelves.

We are disappointed in our refrigerator. We had to replace the filter the first week we had it because the water was undrinkable. The refrigerator also leans forward just enough that when the door is open it hits the wall beside it if we don't hold onto it. The service man said that is common with Whirlpool refrigerators. We just purchased all Whirlpool appliances last month and have had a serviceman here for the refrigerator and the dishwasher so far. I am sure this wont get posted but i feel the company needs to know our experiences.

Perfect Fit

I was happy to find a full-sized fridge that fit in my limited space. I had no wish to have an ice maker or cold-water dispenser, but I am willing to give them a try. I have drunk bottled water for 51 years to avoid tap water which is iffy at best where I live. My house water goes through a water softener, so the taste will take getting used to. In general, the fridge is great and looks good in my kitchen.
